“Echoes of the Earth: Unraveling the Mysteries of Butler County’s Fortified Hill Earthworks”
Eight Hopewell ceremonial earthwork sites throughout Ohio have gained UNESCO World Heritage recognition. Join Dr. Jeffrey Leipzig and Cincinnati Museum Center archeologist, Bob Genheimer, as they explore the roles Europeans played in documenting and shaping the narratives of these ancient earthworks. Journey through the events leading to Fortified Hill’s rediscovery, preservation, and ultimately, its transformation into a park. Uncover the history, both known and unknown, of the native Americans who built Fortified Hill and other remarkable architectural structures throughout the Ohio River Valley.
