“Chem-Dyne at Fifty”-Hamilton’s Largest Environmental Disaster and it’s Legacy

The worst ecological disaster in the history of Hamilton occurred 50 years ago at Chem-Dyne in the city’s North End.  Join Brad Spurlock, board member of the BCHS and Historic Hamilton Inc., along with Tim McLelland, Ground Water Consortium Manager of the Hamilton to New Baltimore Ground Water Consortium to hear about the circumstances that created the “perfect storm” of mishandling and neglect that led to the inferno, how the disaster unfolded in real time, and the lingering environmental impact of the disaster today. In partnership with the Lane Libraries and Hamilton to New Baltimore Ground Water Consortium.
